Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  How easy it the clutch stop to install?
A.  If you can tie your own shoelaces, you can install the clutch stop!

Q.  I have an automatic transmission.  Can I benefit from the clutch stop?
A.  No.

Q.  I've adjusted my clutch stop all the way to the floor and I still can't get my car into gear.  What do I do not?
A.  The UUC Motorwerks Big Boy Clutch Stop comes with sufficient thread so that it can fit many cars of varying degrees of clutch wear.  For clutch pedals that engage quickly (close to the floor), it may be necessary to trim off some of the threads of the clutch stop so that it may be screwed down further into the floor.  In extreme cases, it may not even be necessary to use the jam nut and washer.  Since the clutch engagement on BMWs are not adjustable, this is the simple way of modifying the clutch stop for the varying degrees of engagement.

Q.  What's the best position for adjustment?
A.  Depending on your driving style, some may want the clutch pedal arm to have no freeplay before engagement while others may opt to have a minimum amount of travel.  There is no correct answer as it varies on the opinion of the user.
